Last year’s fundraiser was another rousing success. Through the help of our dedicated donors, the foundation raised over $17,000. The heavy rains didn’t hamper the festivities for this year’s event. We saw many of our repeat attendees as well as many new faces.

This year’s Chinese Auction twenty-two baskets were filled with wonderful goodies from Yankee Candles to Vera Bradley bags, from a Kindle to Microbrew samplers and Phillies Tickets. Lucky winners dashed excitedly forward to claim their prizes. The $3,000 the baskets brought in, was testament to the super prizes and generosity of our guests.

DSC_1646_080WebThis year’s silent auctions were equally thrilling. Bidders circled the auction tables looking to win some fabulous packages such as golf rounds, vintage scotch, Eagles tickets and tailgate, and a huge basket of cheer. Our silent auctions bidders helped us raise over $4,800.

The Foundation had two special guests join in the celebration. Past scholarship winners, Richard Gensler and Matthew Fogarty and their wives were able to take part in the fun. Both men demonstrate the qualities and dedication of a great police officer and would have met with Chief McGowan’s approval. Both have secured jobs in law enforcement. Richard is member of the Warminster Township PD, and Matthew is a member of the Orwigsburg Borough PD.

After the auctions were completed, Part 2 of the celebration began, featuring music from Solid Ground DJs who had the ladies dancing up a storm bigger than the one pouring down outside the venue.

6/23/11 – 1st Annual Fundraiser

The first annual Beef & Beer held on June 23, 2011 at the Flourtown Country Club was a rousing success. Through generous corporate and personal donors, the event had over forty auction baskets valued at $80+, 5 silent auction items, and over 500 raffle tickets were sold. The event hosted 150 guests and raised an overwhelming amount of $14,000. This was an excellent start to getting the foundation off and running. The foundation wishes to express its thanks to all the donors, volunteers, and attendees that made the event such a success. Special thanks to Bunny Doyle and her team at Flourtown CC for providing great food and service for our event. Please see our Final Program for a listing of the type of baskets that were at the event.
